Jane P. Batten Scholarship - Quasi-Endowment

This fund is being established by the Albers School of Business and Economics through the
receipt of remaining funds from the Business Education Alliance which was funded by
philanthropist Jane Batten, who recommended that the residual funds be distributed to the
business schools of the deans that have been involved in the Business Education Alliance,
including The Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University, to be used for
scholarships.

Jane Batten is a philanthropist residing in Virginia Beach, VA providing major gifts to
educational and cultural institutions, predominantly in the state of Virginia. Batten and her late
husband, Frank Batten, have a long history of transformational gifts to Old Dominion University,
Virginia Wesleyan College, the University of Virginia and other educational institutions and
initiatives.

The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide scholarships for students enrolled in the Professional
Master of Business Administration degree program (or its successor) in the Albers School for
Business and Economics at Seattle University.
